Résidence Poincaré - Maison de retraite

I'm writing this review for those who want to offer a beautiful place to live to their loved ones before they pass away. I absolutely do not recommend this establishment, which makes it clear from the moment you walk in that death awaits you at the end of the corridor! There's no one in the hallways, the staff seem bothered as soon as you need them, it's a ghost town... My grandmother was left lying in her vomit until someone intervened. Luckily, we went to see her that day at 1:30 pm, otherwise she would have stayed like that until teatime (4:30 pm) because the staff doesn't come to the hallways. They let her rant for hours, telling us "she was complicated"... Nothing was done to address this, and as a result, she completely deteriorated without any support. She came in fully lucid and able to walk, and left delirious and unable to stand because the staff quickly decided to stop putting on her compression stockings. Furthermore, the staff makes medical decisions without even informing the family; there's no communication with the care team unless you happen to run into them. My grandmother, who isn't incontinent, asked the night staff if she could go to the bathroom. Their response was, "You have your diaper, go in it," and they left the room. When we told the doctor about all this, here's his response: "It's true there's been a bit of neglect." That's it! Another elderly resident on her floor complained of mistreatment because no one would take her to the toilet and she was going to file a complaint... This amused the caregivers... Another elderly person remained in the hallway all afternoon searching for their room without any staff member intervening. We felt neither supported nor understood, so we made the excellent decision to move her, and we have absolutely no regrets! We found her a quality facility where the staff genuinely cares about the elderly and where the caregivers don't make fun of them, where they are treated as fully human beings and not as parasites at the end of their lives... Growing old is a condition that affects most of us; all we asked for was dignity, kindness, and care...

A money-making machine. Elderly people ignored, no morals or ethics in patient treatment. Non-existent cleaning, lack of empathy, call button deliberately disconnected... Some staff members are surely doing their best, but the overall operation needs a complete overhaul.

Our parents moved in 22 months ago because our father was nearing the end of his life. He received excellent support. When our father passed away, the staff was wonderful to our mother and us. Residents are free to choose whether or not to attend activities, and the staff is very attentive.

My mother resided in this nursing home for almost two and a half years and received wonderful care and kindness from the staff and management. The only drawbacks were inconsistent availability, a food quality that definitely needs improvement, and, most importantly, a lack of psychological support from the manager. A real shame. Nevertheless, I recommend this facility and thank the staff, management, and coordinating physician for their dedication, kindness, and professionalism.

Kindness and professionalism... The entertainment is top-notch... The entire staff is attentive...a special mention for the welcome...a big thank you, my father-in-law is very happy...
