With a clear head and a cool mind, I'm reflecting on my mother's death in the middle of the dining room. I still blame the staff in blue and orange scrubs who didn't notice my mother was no longer breathing in her chair, which was evident from her amorphous position on her right side. In fact, the staff once again lacked vision and professionalism. At first glance, I saw my mother, among about thirty people, falling to her right side with her arm dangling; a blackish liquid coming out of her mouth. I had to put my mother on the floor myself to give her CPR... The same for the emergency cart... The wires were tangled and therefore unusable; it's serious; the interim nurse had never seen anything like it. Of course, it certainly wouldn't have brought my mother back; a sad end... It's a shame because the staff was kind; like the residents. In response to vyv3; you say you have professional staff; I would say the older care assistants who cling on know their job well. The director told me before the tragedy that she had a lot of trouble finding staff who knew how to work in EHPADs. We just need to ask ourselves the right questions: why is it so difficult to find good staff in this home and in most other establishments? Also, you tell me you want to discuss with me; but why? The harm is done with several serious mistakes accumulated, leading to my mother's death among the care assistants and residents. Perhaps there will be a follow-up; I'm thinking about it... LM.

Hello, I am very shocked by the negative comments. But after observing these reviews, they seem to relate to an establishment other than Gevrey-Chambertin. First of all, this establishment is part of the VYV group, which falls under the French Mutuality. Clearly, there are no shareholders to remunerate. My mother is housed there. I visit her every week. So I have time to observe daily life thoroughly. It is true that staff can sometimes be insufficient, as sick leave is difficult to replace. But it should be known that EHPADs in general struggle to recruit. Whenever there is a problem (for me, two in two years), all you have to do is fill out a form for it to be resolved very quickly. The care and hygiene assistance staff are very patient and kind, even with residents whose character is not always easy to manage. There are activities almost every day. An activity coordinator is present every day except weekends. A small group of volunteers (of which I am a part) also provides other activities (mini-concerts, exhibitions...). The staff are attentive and listen to residents as well as visitors. You just have to take the time to talk to them to realize it.

Quite shocked by such a negative comment. Having visited a person there for 15 days, I was able to see, on the contrary, that unlike many other EHPADs, this establishment is very clean, there is no bad smell whatsoever in the activity or dining rooms, nor in the bedrooms. The staff is very friendly and the activity coordinator is very dynamic in involving as many patients as possible. Very good first impression.

A hospice, nauseating odors, an obvious lack of staff on Sundays in particular... I found my 91-year-old father-in-law on a Sunday afternoon, completely uncovered, groaning, shivering from cold, his arms and hands very cold, apparently he had been like that for several hours. I covered him with 2 blankets and warmed him with my hands, poor man, he wasn't eating anymore but no one was there to help him (except when we were there). A brave but insufficient staff. Yet 2700 € per month...

unprofessional, unfriendly nursing staff, non-existent health management, not very clean environment, to be avoided
